Nature-Based Mindfulness Program - Mountain View, Half Day Class (7/20/19)
HALF-DAY SESSIONSaturday, July 20, 2019 - 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm - Park Pavilion, Room K
REDUCE STRESS AND FEEL BETTER WITH NATURE!
This half-day program teaches easy, enjoyable ways to cultivate mindfulness by tapping into the calming, healing powers of nature - even if you live in a city and don’t have time.
Numerous studies document impressive benefits from mindfulness practice and nature connection, including reduced stress, anxiety, and depression; improved sleep and immune system function; and increased creativity and vitality. Integrating nature and mindfulness amplifies the benefits and supports mind-body wellness.
Most of this session will be held outdoors among the trees of Cuesta Park. You’ll be guided through gentle yet powerful practices that will help you connect more deeply with the peace and beauty of nature and leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. You will take home simple tools you can use to bring greater ease and balance into daily life and to receive more profound benefits from time in natural settings.
This program is especially appropriate for those who: want to connect with nature; spend most of their time indoors or in front of screens; are coping with chronic stress, anxiety, or depression; and/or aspire to cultivate mindfulness yet have difficulty with seated meditation or finding time to practice.
Please dress in layers, ready for sun or shade, and wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring water and a snack, and a journal if you wish.
